Background
In the key period of sustained adjustment and rapid reform of the world economy, the in-depth integration of informatization and industrialization is hastening the birth of a new form of production and organization. Information technology is closely connected with people’s social life, which creates various new consumption patterns. Nowadays, all countries apply information technology as an important strategic measure, so as to promote the development of their economic and social transformation.
Nov. 1-4, 2011, the 1st World CIO Forum was held in Shenzhen. The forum was hosted by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) (see more information in Appendix I), undertaken by Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE). More than 800 supervisors of information technology, enterprise decision makers, government officials, relevant experts and IT professionals from different countries and regions of the world participated in the forum. During the four days, a total of 55 keynote speeches, 10 round table discussions on the hot topics, 7 special topic forums, 3 industry forums and 2 outstanding enterprise visits were arranged, which achieved the expected results and were spoken highly of by the relevant parties.
